My students need Q-BA-MAZE building systems that allows them to create, design and test marble runs that they assemble. It will be a valuable addition to our Maker Space.
The Steamer library is about learning, exploring, and discovering. Through the creation of a Maker Space, students will be allowed to explore and unlock their creative thinking and problem solving skills. The space will include a variety of activities designed to get students exploring and learning.
The goal of this project is to establish a Maker Space in the Steamer Library at our elementary school.
This space will teach students about design, creativity, and problem solving through hands-on exploration and experimentation.
Our students come from the STEM Magnet program as well as traditional backgrounds. They are curious and hard working and truly enjoy learning. Our school is one of the best in the district because they are so willing to learn and apply themselves every day. Successful funding of this project will establish the first activity to be available in the Maker Space.
My Project
These materials will help establish a Maker Space in the Library. Q-BA-Maze is a construction system that enables students to design, create, and test marble runs. A combination of art and physics, this activity is STEAM at its best. By having access to creative and open-ended activities, they will be able to challenge themselves and learn to solve problems through creation and design. The library is an ideal place to provide this type of activity as every student in the entire school will be able to have access.
The Steamer Library Maker Space will enhance the entire school by providing opportunities for students to creatively expand their knowledge and problem solving skills.
Being able to experience creative problem solving will not only improve their academic performance, it will plant the seeds of lifelong learning and careers in STEAM in the entire student body.
