Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember learning about the real world? Do you feel you could have been better equipped in handling your finances? Have you ever tried to do your job without the right tools? Maybe you had the right tools to do your work but they just weren't up to par?
About 98% of my students are second language learners or ELLs.
ELL means English language learner. English is not their native language and can be hard for them. The area in which my school is located is an area of poverty where parents are always working and cannot afford school supplies. All students receive free lunch. With this in mind, I cannot ask for donations from families because I will not receive any.
My Project
I am requesting clickers to use in my classroom. My students love to use their cell phones, however in my class they just can't. Instead I want to trade their cell phone in with a learning tool: a clicker. I am also requesting various other supplies to be used in my classroom such as materials to hang around the class. Creating a comfortable classroom environment is a must.
My project is important because my students aspire to do well in school.
They desire to dream big and have others believe in them along the way. I want to give students the same experience I was able to get when I was in school, and I hope you do, too
