Making iConnections to Financial Literacy

My Students

Having students of the information age, I find it difficult to prepare students to use technology tools when not all students have access to them. An Apple iPad Speaker, a VGA Adapter, and an HP Photosmart Plus Printer would allow many second grade students to use interactive math sites altogether.

I teach an energetic group of second grade students who love technology!

They attend a small rural school in a farming community. Many students don't have computers at home, so they look forward to learning and practicing their math skills at school.

My Project

With an Apple iPad Speaker, a VGA Adapter, and an HP Photosmart Plus Printer, the students will be able to work together and solve real world financial problems through web quests, math activities, and by using a banking system called "Check Us Out." This website incorporates math in a fun and educational way.

With your help, the second grade students will learn how to become financially literate and ultimately successful in their journey through life.

Writing a check correctly and keeping a checkbook balanced is an important life skill. Thank you for touching many lives!
