My Students

Our 2nd grade students read daily with partners to increase their fluency and stamina during Daily Five. The fluency partner scripts will make reading FUN and help the kids LEARN at the same time!

Our 2nd grade students are working tirelessly to become ready for 3rd grade and the high stakes test they will have to take.

Over 60% of the students come from low income homes and over 25% of our students are English Language Learners. The kids are working hard, and this will help ensure that every minute they spent is used wisely!

My Project

The students will use the fluency cards during their "Read to Someone" rotation during Daily Five. Right now, students are reading chapter books to each other, which they cannot finish, so there is no continuity. By using the fluency scripts, students will be able to finish the story AND comprehension questions are provided, so students will be able to "quiz" each other on the story they read.

Having fluency partner scripts will increase the fluency and comprehension skills of every 2nd grade student.

It will help the students stay engaged and focused on learning. Plus, it will make learning FUN!
