My students need literacy centers that keep them actively engaged in meaningful literacy actvities while I am teaching small group reading.

My Students

I'm bored. I hate school. Have you ever heard any student say this? I am hoping to change that this year in my literacy centers.

Our school is located in Louisiana.

My students are great 1st grade kids. I have students from a wide range of socio-economic families. We are not a Title 1 school, so funds are limited. Each year our district makes more cuts and supplies are limited.

My Project

I am hoping to provide my students with fun and engaging activities during literacy centers. With the instant literacy center kit from Laksshore, my students will be able to practice literacy skills that will improve their reading skills. We also need the tap and glue lids to help conserve supplies.

These instant literacy center will save time, and provide my students with quality literacy practice.

The students will be introduced to literacy games and not realize that they are learning while having a great time. I'm hoping they beg to go to centers.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
