Mrs. Hammitt from Spring TX is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 100 earbud headphones to use in the computer lab.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
We have computers and access to some amazing learning programs, but we can't hear them! We have a few old, bulky headphones that are often broken and short out quickly. We need a set of earbud headphones for every student so that he/she can actually hear these awesome programs!
I teach about 100 energetic 5th graders who have grown up in a world where technology rules.
Having access to a computer and learning programs is critical, but we can't hear it! Each student needs an earbud headphone that will be labeled for them this year and will be cleaned and reused next year.
Each earbud headphone will be put in a baggie and labeled with each student's name. They will be the only one using it this year, so they will take great pride in this temporary ownership of keeping it clean and usable! We will frequently clean them and reuse them next year in the same manner again.
When we are in the computer lab, it is noisy!
Students often complain that they can't hear the program because of another student's program next to them. The silence created by the earbud headphones would be a golden LEARNING silence!!
