My Students

My students are unique. Many people do not comprehend the challenges they face each day. My special needs students come to school everyday with new struggles. Something that they could do the day before may be challenging the next. Each day is different, but they don't let that get them down.

Because we are in a high poverty community, the creative opportunities are not readily available to my students.

I want them to have the same advantages as anyone else. This is where I need some help. My students are my life and I love them more than I could ever express. They have such big hearts and they yearn to expand their knowledge...but they have difficulty in this area. They try so hard to catch a concept that may come so easily to a student without a disability. I want to provide a classroom where they excel in their learning and they have fun doing it! I want them to feel like they are on top of the world. I want them to know that their disability does not define them. I want them to know they can overcome the everyday challenges they face. I want them to have so much fun learning that they forget they even have the challenges that they do!

My Project

I can accomplish my goals for my kids with your help! With materials like the Let's Learn Phonics Interactive Game, Daily Interactive Language, and Reading Literature Teaching Center I can provide various opportunities and learning strategies that help every type of learner in my classroom. It is important to understand that my classroom consists of students of varying levels. I cannot always reach each student everyday, but with these materials, I will be able to do just that. It will make it fun for them, and it will help me reach every level of student that I need to reach.

If you have never seen the smile of a special needs student or if you have never seen the brightly lit face of a child, who struggles everyday to catch on to something, when they finally catch on...then you have not lived.

It is absolutely heart warming to see these kids reach goals that they never thought possible. With your help, I can reach more students. Together, we can bring joy into their lives. For some, we are their only hope. Are you willing to join me in this effort?
