I am currently a 4th grade team teacher with close to two decades of experience.
At this time, I teach Science, Social Studies and Math at a PreK-5th grade school. My school has 535 students. We have tried very hard to move forward with technology since 2009 with various technology school campaigns. I believe technology integration is a "must" in classrooms. I am fortunate because our school leaders feel the same. As our school technology motto says, we "keep our eye on technology" at all times! Like me, my students are drawn toward creative technology projects & we would love to create powerful, curriculum based video projects. As the teacher, I'd love to incorporate more with digital photographs.
My Project
As a technology based teacher, I know bringing a new camera and accessories to in my classroom, would enhance future lessons for my students. At this point, my goal lies with "Empowering Students Through Art" As an avid technology based teacher, I would love to strategically incorporate a camera to enhance my students' learning experiences. We could use this camera for all subject areas. I teach science and have an "on site" garden at our school. One example would be for our garden project. My goal would be to record the photos digitally as we the garden we plant, grows. As a culminating activity, the students would then create a book about what it took to get the vegetables from the seed to the table. The students would then use their own photographs and make group books with the pictures snapped with the digital camera. My students need a camera, bag, lens, flash and batteries for this project. Would you help us on our digital journey?
