Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine a class with a moldy rug and supplies everywhere. This is not the class for me. I got rid of my rug during the beginning of the last school year. It was temporarily replaced by a used rug that had seen better years. It was so worn out that I would often trip on it.
I work with a large culturally and linguistically diverse group of learners.
I work with students with autism, students with specific learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, and students who may benefit from small group interventions. Close to 90% of the students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, and about 60% of our students are English language learners.
My Project
I will use the space-saver storage cabinet for homework, supplies, and parent notices. The durable storage center will keep it all organized. It has 12 divided compartments that will keep materials and manipulatives handy and accessible. The rug will be the perfect addition to our classroom reading corner. Science fiction, mystery, adventure and more, this cozy classroom carpet will bring literature to life. This carpet will bring our classroom library to life. It also features 9 of my students' favorite literary genre and it has a super-rugged, stain-resistant design to last through years of classroom use.
