We are a family of 22 students that come from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
We are a year round school full of students who are eager to learn with teachers who have a growth mindset that all students can succeed and learn. This school is an inviting environment with strong support from parents and administration in helping provide what they can for the students to have success.
My Project
I am requesting a document camera so the students can use technology to show their thinking for math problems instead of coming to the board and rewriting it- they can bring their page of work and place it under the board. This will allow us to be able to look at multiple students' work and discuss the differences in how we solve math problems but still obtain the same answers.
I am also requesting these books, because they match with the Essential Standards for our state, so I can utilize them with the Science and Social Studies lessons or in reading groups.
A document camera will allow us to be more hands on in math- we will be able to use manipulative items under this as well as using it for sharing our work in math.
I can place texts under the camera so the students can see and read along instead of just listening. Students will be able to take all work and share it under the camera instead of just reading aloud their work. It gives these students a sense of ownership with their work, being able to share it with the entire class.
