My Students

Can you imagine creating a robot out of Legos that is computer programed to do all kinds of cool things? Well, with the Lego Mindstorms NXT the children in the Lego Club will get to do just that.

Our school is located in a rural area of South Carolina.

Because of the economic status of our families over 90% of our children are on the free and reduced lunch program. Even though they are economically disadvantaged they are academically enthusiastic. They come to school eager to learn and soak up everything we give them like a sponge.

My Project

Our elementary school feeds into the middle school that most of our children will attend. The middle school is a STEM school, which means they concentrate on science, technology, engineering and math. I am asking for a Lego Mindstorms NXT to enhance our Lego kits that we have incorporated into our curriculum. Students will model real-life mechanisms and use creativity, logic, and problem-solving skills to meet challenges with today's technologies all while learning necessary science, technology, engineering, and math concepts.

Please help my students grasp STEM concepts while learning creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills by donating a Lego Mindstorm Education robotics system.

This project could be just what a child needs to spark that interest in technology that will lead to a career in the future.
