This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My emergent readers and writers need more word building activities ensure success in school and life.

I teach in a Title One school, where there is a high population of foster kids and English Language Learners.

My students go to a small inner city elementary school in a high poverty area in California. I am looking for different ways to support and help my kindergarteners write words.

My Project

Our classroom needs word building activities. I'm requesting 3 and 4 letter words puzzles that will reinforce word building skills. These are colorful puzzles that kids love to complete. Then there are the chunky letter blocks. Students will snap the rugged plastic letters onto the handy bases to form words. They can even switch out blocks to explore sound substitution, rhyming words and more. The word pattern practice cards are write and wipe boards where students will add initial sounds and form tons of words that share rhyming patterns. The learning centers will also reinforce word building and word families. The word family pocket chart will help students write their CVC words.

With your help, you will make it possible for my kindergarten students to improve their writing skills and word recognition skills by enabling them to with these word building activities.
