The basic philosophy of our team is that every child learns in their own way. We personalize learning so that each child will wonder, imagine, create, learn and succeed.
The kids on Team Harmony are a creative bunch.
They create things in their minds that we don't have the tools to translate into reality. We run a 20% Time program on team which allows kids to choose a personal learning project about which they are passionate. Some kids design, some kids create, some kids code. Whatever they want to pursue, we help them. Many of the project ideas this year involve creating. We believe that learning is most meaningful when kids create their own learning out of what goes on in the class. Kids learn best when they are invested in the learning.
My Project
Our kids are creating designs for a variety of projects. The projects range from fashion design to creating new candy. Some are creating new architectural models, some are creating art and some are learning and applying computer coding. A 3D Printer would allow the kids to see their designs become tangible, real items. The printer would allow them to learn an entire new set of technology skills.
Right now, kids are learning about their talents and interests.
We are looking forward to giving them all of the tools that will allow them to continue that learning. There is nothing more disheartening than a child with a brilliant idea who cannot work on that idea to make it a reality. We want to give our kids every educational opportunity that we can.
