My students need an egg incubator, chicken eggs, and an egg development chart to help them learn about growth and development in organisms.

My Students

Imagine trying to learn the process of growth and development of organisms out of a book, with abstract terms like, blastula, gastrulation, mesoderm, etc... My students deserve to learn by observing the process occurring right in front of their eyes! This project can make science less abstract.

My students, like most, enjoy learning when they can ask questions and explore a topic for themselves.

Help me help my students get some engaging activities and tools to explore the weather, so they don't have to listen to me talk about it! My students are active, curious, and are daring the world to challenge and engage them. I can't imagine a more fun and challenging group to work with. We are all part of an urban public-charter school that caters to a high poverty population of students. We may lack resources but we share a common belief in education as the way out of poverty.

My Project

I have requested an egg incubator (includes automatic turner, fan, and humidifier), fertile chicken eggs, and a chicken development chart. This will make the idea of a single cell becoming a complex organism into a comprehendible and observable phenomena.

This project is so important because these few items will enrich the students' lessons and get them more engaged with the subject material, giving them a chance to make biology an applicable and accessible science in their own lives!
