My Students

New York City schools face a tremendous fiscal crisis. Our computers are antiquated and obsolete.

My students face significant challenges.

New York City public schools lack the resources to truly give students an all-encompassing and robust education. Our computers are old and obsolete. There is little in terms of technology. Nevertheless, my students strive to be their best with the little resources we have to offer.

My Project

I have no technology in my classroom. I am still writing lesson plans on pencil and paper, and transferring work into the blackboard using chalk. I believe a laptop computer in the classroom would open up a new world for my students. I would like to introduce interactive software through a projector connected to the laptop. Students can then see and hear the mathematics being taught. I can utilize the wonders of the internet to expand the mathematics lesson. No longer would I rely on blackboard and chalk dust.

My students work so hard with the little resources available to them.

We have no technology in the classroom. A laptop computer connected to a projector could open up new worlds of learning for them. It would enrich the lesson and make learning enjoyable and engaging.
