Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my high school students with special needs can neither see nor hear nor use their hands well enough to use individual computers.

My students have a number of severe disabilities that include visual, auditory, tactile, neurological, sensory and various physical limitations.

Our high school serves a population containing a high number of low income families. As a result, students tend to be at-risk for issues that stem from social and economic disadvantages.

My Project

I have been gifted with a special needs DVD library. With a laptop and projector my students will be able to enjoy a curriculum that includes critical life skills, negotiating community streets, good social skills when out and about, safe use of transportation methods, preparing for the work world, and skills needed for job success.

Your contribution toward this project can help to place my special education classroom of students with severe disabilities on par with well-equipped classroom backed by more adequate public funding.
