Our team is in the building process. The girls have come a long way as far as keeping a positive attitude and being open-minded to getting better at softball. We run our practice schedule as follows: Monday - Fielding, Tuesday - games, Wednesday - Scrimmage, Thursday - Drill Day, Friday - batting
My players are a team that is learning how to work together while keeping a positive attitude.
They have grown so much since the beginning of the season, and I am confident they will continue to grow as young ladies and players. We have written team goals and individual goals, and are well on our way to accomplishing some of these goals. I know it won't happen over night, but we are heading in the right direction for next year as well. They are building their confidence in themselves and each other.
My Project
Our field was completely grass during the summer. You couldn't distinguish the infield from the outfield. Without any money to spend, it is difficult to maintain the field, but it is necessary that it be worked on in order to boost the team's confidence. The tarp and round up will help keep the grass from returning. We desperately need infield conditioner and rakes to spread it out. Lastly, of course we need some game balls for play days!
This team has already come so far in the short time I have been working with them.
They have changed their attitudes from lethargic and not very hopeful, to eager and full of potential. By gaining these tools, they will be able to take ownership and responsibility for their OWN field! This will help boost their confidence knowing they have been a part of something great while aiding with teamwork to build this field together!
