My Students

Help kids get fit! My students have not been introduced to this awesome, fast pace game called Lacrosse. It is becoming more popular in Florida and my students would like to learn the rules and get active! Our physical education classes need equipment to be able to put this game into play!

Many of these students do not get the chance to play an organized sport.

Their only chance of learning how to play a game is through PE classes. They enjoy the sports they have been introduced to and would be excited to learn Lacrosse! These students love to be active.

My Project

I am requesting 6 Lacrosse sets. Each set includes 6 Fiddle Middies sturdy sticks, 1 fiddle shadow goalie stick, 1 goal, 6 balls and an instructional/rule book. I have requested 6 sets so we can have a high level of participation during classes with a high number of students. They will be able to participate in skill drills and get a lot of play time during games. They will be able to participate in a class tournament! The students will learn lacrosse skills, techniques, and rules. They will also learn how to get along in a competitive situation using good sportsmanship and they will learn how to run a tournament.

Introducing Lacrosse to my students will allow them to engage in a sport that is becoming popular.

It potentially could be the starting point for someone to earn a scholarship for college. Ultimately, my goal as a physical education teacher is to introduce my students to a game that can become a lifelong healthy activity.
