Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I principally teach Advanced Placement Physics 1 to sophomores. Our biggest challenge is finding funding for materials to help support our advanced programs.

We are a specialized school in a very large urban school district.

The majority of our students are minorities, with over 60% of them in the free and reduced lunch program. Many of them will be the first person in their family to attend a College or University.

My Project

We will be using the laptop computers to support our Physics Laboratory program. We do at least one experiment with each unit, all of them hands on for the students, with a minimum of assistance from the instructors. The majority of the labs are technology based, and we will use the laptops to interface with our data collection equipment, and also to help analyze the data collected. The laptops will be connected to a wireless router and printer so that the results can be printed as a part of the lab report.

At this time, funding for enrichment programs is very hard to find within the district.

Your help will make it much easier for my students to be able to collect, analyze, and print the results from their laboratory experiments.
