This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many of my students only have computer access at school. The majority of my students are from low income homes that cannot afford computers, yet to succeed they cannot afford not to have access to them.
The majority of my students are from low income homes.
They are good kids, who do not come from great backgrounds. They need every advantage they can to succeed. They thrive on interaction, on success, and must have state of the art knowledge to prepare them for the careers of tomorrow.
My Project
Currently there are no student computers in my classroom. I would love to have easy access to computers for my students. There is a space and money issue. Even if the funding was available for computers, the space isn't. I have a small classroom, as do most of my colleagues. There just isn't enough space or funding for every student to have access to computers.
Tablets can solve many issues for my students and I.
We do not need any additional space to use tablets in the classroom. Tablets are smaller, but more versatile. Tablets can be used just as a desktop, but with enhancements. Students can read books on the tablet, use applications to further their learning, research a topic, create presentations, and so much more.
