Every day we are engaging ourselves in literacy. We read story books on the rug. We listen to stories on the smart board. I want every child to be engaged in reading in as many ways as possible. Technology is a wonderful way to draw their attention to the fun of reading.
I have a wonderful group of students who are eager to learn.
They are energetic and full of wonder. Each one has their own wonderful personality and way of learning. I want to be able to engage them each in the way that they learn best. For many of them technology is something that they are drawn too. They love when we are using the smart board, computers, or iPod.
My Project
Our class with use an iPad mini in many ways. It will be used as a listening center for students to hear stories. It will also be used to help them learn letters and sounds. This skill will aid them in learning to read. The iPad mini will also be used to play math games. The students will learn numbers, shapes, counting and more. The students will be able to use the iPad mini in small groups of two or three. I will also use it during guided reading groups to enhance learning at all reading levels.
This project will make a difference to my class by allowing children to interact with technology in a positive way.
It will enhance their reading, math, and comprehension skills in a way that is fun and engaging. The children will enjoy using an I-pad mini for listening, reading, playing, and practicing. An iPad mini is a wonderful way to show children that technology can be used for learning!
