My Students

I have students in my classroom who are so excited to become authors in the real sense of the word!! We have learned about the roles of authors and illustrators through literature. My students began to say, "I can be an author, too!" or "I can be an illustrator, too!"

I have 20 typical and special education kindergarten students in my classroom.

My school is located in a low to middle income area. The majority of my students do not have laptops or desktops at home so their keyboarding skills are not great. They are thrilled with the technology I bring in!!

My Project

With the laptop in my classroom, my students will be able to create and publish their own stories!! They will be able to become more proficient in their keyboarding skills, as well as, adding pictures or graphics. I plan to make this technology a center where students can go to it on a daily basis and create their stories. After they publish their stories, we will bind the stories in a class book to be used in our classroom. We will also create books to be shared in our media center.

This project will enhance our classroom by allowing us the opportunity to create and publish our own stories.

My students will be enriched and motivated through becoming authors and illustrators. Their keyboarding skills will enable them to become proficient writers!
