This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At least once a day, you will find my whole class actively engaged in reading, math and even physical education via technology. Every day I connect my iPad or laptop to our projector to instruct my students on sight words, reading skills, math skills and even Zumba.

The majority of my students are second language learners from low socio-economic homes.

Most of my students do not have computers, tablets or iPads. The very few that do, often do not have Internet. My students are eager to learn, they LOVE school and love the 30 minutes a week we have in our computer lab. However that isn't enough time; by the time I get everyone logged on, it is time to leave. My students are eager to use technology,

My Project

The iPads would be used during our math and literacy work station time for students to use apps that will foster their development in specific reading and math skills. They would also be used for students to take photos of their work, make short videos and access learning through QR codes.

I know that many of my students lack prior knowledge and come to me with very little real-world experiences.

Through media and hands-on learning I strive to give my students the experiences every child should have.
