My Students

As a teacher, I have always felt I needed to focus on the individual needs of all my students. The constant in my classroom has always been to lessen learning gaps with each of my students. I know that with a plan of action and an iPad I could truly accomplish even more with my students.

I am truly fortunate to work at a dedicated elementary feeder school with more than 500 students from Pre K through 5th grade.

Our community is definitely one that is centered on education and our children. I have taught several grade levels, as well as working in SPED. I love my students and accenting what is positive in them.

My Project

As a teacher, I am always working to push students to their utmost potential. Most students love technology devices. With an iPad in my classroom, this would allow every student I work with to experience the power of an iPad and the wonderful apps floating in cyberspace. I plan to use an iPad for RTI and Intervention to help lessen gaps with certain skills. I would use those in independent and group centers. As a teacher, I also plan to use the iPad and Splashtop Whiteboard app to connect my projector to the iPad for whole class lessons. Our school has already set up an iPad page with apps for parents, teachers and students. Many of those are free. I know my students would love to work with these in reading, math, social studies and science. With an iPad, I could use it in centers, as well as in whole groups connected to my projector or whiteboard.

I believe in focusing on student abilities and strengthening weaknesses, I know an iPad would help me do exactly that.
