Trending is a popular word in the technology field. In education the most current trending topic or device I would say, are Ipads and tablets. Proven as powerful tools, I like other educators near and far would love to have one for my classroom.
I am currently a 5th grade teacher at a Pre K-5th grade school, which has a wonderful parental support system.
Our school has almost 550 students at this time. My students are eager to learn, and I truly enjoy teaching them! Our teachers and students are active in utilizing technology in our classrooms daily. We are always looking at ways to gain new technology with our annual school wide Eye on Technology campaigns.
My Project
As a dedicated educator with a focus on Core Curriculum and technology, I know the importance of recognizing individual student needs. With the use of an Ipad in our classroom, I would use it in independent learning centers for needed skills and technology projects. To help out, our school tech person helped us by setting up a school Ipad Website to assist our school community with apps at home. My plans lie with utilizing free apps on that site to help lessen gaps with my students. I also plan to use it in whole class activities, connected to our projector and interactive white board with an Apple Dock VGA adapter.
As we watch Ipads and tablets trend in the technology world, I personally agree these will continue to be powerful tools for our students.
