As a librarian, I believe in the Margaret Fuller quote, "Today a reader, tomorrow a leader."
With an iPad and free eBook apps, I feel I could offer all of my students the experience of reading with a tablet to become stronger leaders and readers
I am fortunate to work at a dedicated and committed elementary feeder school with more than 500 students from Pre K through 5th grade.
We are definitely a community that is centered on education and our children. I have taught several grade levels, and feel I have finally found a true home as a librarian and book lover. I see all 500+ students weekly and love it. Our school is blessed with wonderful students who love to read!
My Project
As the librarian, I am always working to push students to a higher level of reading and comprehension. With an iPad in the central location of the school, this would allow every student who visits my library to experience the power of an iPad in conjunction with reading apps and free eBooks. Our school has already set up an iPad page with apps for parents, teachers and students. Many of those are FREE reading interactive eBooks which I know my students would love to experience, even more so for those who do not have iPads at home. I could also use it with my projector for webcasts and other technology rich lessons that focus on reading.
Together you and I have a rare opportunity to make my library students stronger readers and better leaders through the use of a library iPad!
Your consideration in this endeavor would deeply be appreciated!
