Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
One of the first things students ask to do each day is to review math facts or take a reading test on the iPad. I want my students to be comfortable with technology and embrace it.
My students are diverse and come from many different backgrounds.
Some of them are refugees and do not speak English well. Despite the obstacles they have, they do quite well and never give excuses for not being able to do something. Our school is a Title I school and all students receive free meals.
My Project
My students will use the iPad Mini to take district mandated tests, play on educational apps to improve basic spelling and math skills, and use it for research when we have reports to do. My students will learn to use the iPad appropriately and to use the Internet appropriately and safely.
Donations to my project will enable my students to access technology every day at their desk.
Students will feel an ownership and this will make them comfortable with technology. Their future is technology and by being exposed to it early their level of ease with it will only enhance their future.
