As W.B. Yeats said, "Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire." As a teacher, I want my students to be excited about learning so they become life long learners.
My 22 third graders are students who love learning new things and exploring new ideas.
Each one of my students is different, and they benefit from differentiated instruction through small groups, exploration, and hands on learning. My goal is that my students will be able to engage in a variety of experiences with digital resources and learn the skills necessary to be 21st century learners.
My Project
Technology is currently used in the classroom in delivering lessons and during Daily 5 stations. We currently have a SMART board that we can use during instruction and three desktop computers in our classroom, which make it difficult to have all students engaged in using technology daily.
The addition of three mini iPads to my classroom technology resources would allow my students to engage in learning and creating with technology collaboratively in small groups and individually. I would like to give my students access to technology more frequently, and these mini iPads will greatly increase the frequency with which students are engaged in learning using technology. The cases will protect the iPads.
Thank you for the support for my classroom and my students!
The donations of three mini iPads and 3 LifeProof cases will allow students to learn using technology more frequently.
It will also allow students to engage in activities and create projects in new and innovative ways. The use of more and different technology will increase students' engagement and digital literacy.
