It's a technological world out there! It seems to be the way that kids learn these days and the way that concepts stick in their heads.
I teach a group of fourth and fifth graders at a Title I school in North Central California.
This is a school where 90% of our students are on free and reduced lunch and 80% of them are second language learners. These students don't have the opportunities to use technology in their lives outside school. Many of these students don't have a personal computer or Internet access, let alone something extra like an iPad.
My Project
With these iPads I am going to be able to do a plethora of activities. I will be able put many different kinds of learning apps on them, that cover all of the different subjects that I teach. I will be able to put math apps, such as multiplication and fraction review on them. I will be able to put language games, such as grammar reviews on them. And science and social studies apps to help study the human body and the United States will be able to be added. I will also be able to put books on the iPads for the students to read and listen to. They will also be used as a way to search the Internet for research for projects they will need to do throughout the year.
These iPads will make a huge difference in my students' learning.
They will be able to reinforce their learning through fun learning game apps that I would put on them. The impact that these iPads will have in my class will be staggering because my students will be able to learn from a medium they wouldn't be able to have any other way than through your generous donation.
