This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you imagine being a student and not having the tools necessary to succeed? Unfortunately, this is what my students face everyday when coming to school. We do not have working computers in our classroom so students can not conduct research nor type a paper.

My students are a wonderful bunch of students that have the misfortune of going to a school that does not have the financial resources to provide every class with working computers.

The students do have four computers in the class that are too old to operate certain websites or download software. When trying to access several educational websites, the pages do not load causing frustration to the students as well as the teacher. My students just want the opportunity to have access to technology like so many others.

My Project

My students need a Laptop Computer in order to go on the internet to complete research projects. Although I'm only requesting one laptop at this time, I truly believe that having one computer is better than having none. My students only have access to working computers once a week when we attend computer lab. However, if we had at least one working computer in the class, the students can have access more often allowing them to complete projects and produce type written work on the word processor.

Having this computer will provide technology to the students that might have have access to technology at home.

Students will have the opportunity to access the Internet, complete research,and visit educational websites.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
