Interactivity in classrooms is an absolute must. With powerful technology resources on the horizon, teachers can seamlessly integrate productive lessons! I believe that with an ActivSlate tablet, my students and I will be able to utilize that interactive tool to its maximum potential with my Promethean Board.
I am an English Language Arts fifth grade teacher at our elementary school.
My current school has about 544 students. I teach two English Language Art sections. Our Pre-K-fifth grade school is one of the feeder schools in town.
This will be our third year using Common Core and we are all striving to move forward with our wonderful students. My students are eager to learn. All of our teachers are active in utilizing technology in our classrooms.
My goal is to continue learning more about technology integration and the ActivSlate device. Having an ActivSlate table in conjunction with my Promethean Board would allow me to bring it to them for interactive lessons in a unique and powerful way.
My Project
First of all, you may want the answer to the question, what is an ActivSlate? It is a wireless tablet that offers the same interactive function as a Promethean Board, but has the advantage of freedom of movement. We could use it interactively in groups or in centers.
Having an ActivSlate would allow me to bring it to my sudents for interactive lessons. Our school has been fortunate enough to receive Promethean Boards for all of our classrooms in the past few years, however, we never had additional funding or grants for accessories.
I would love for us to receive an ACTIVSLATE 60 tablet and charger to seamlessly integrate lessons with ActivInspire on my Promethean Board. The ActivSlate would work in conjunction with my Promethean Board and could help enhance powerful deliveries of lessons in a truly interactive way.
With the use of flipcharts created by both me, as the teacher or with students, my classes will engage in powerful lessons that would encourage collaboration and creativity.
