Do you remember a time where learning was fun for you? A time when you were so engaged in a lesson that the time just flew right by? That is what my first graders to remember when they think of my class! I want my students to be learning and have fun doing so!
My students are an energetic and enthusiastic bunch of first graders from a city in Massachusetts called Lowell!
Lowell is an inner city school district. My school is one elementary in this large district and it is amazing. We have a dedicated staff and great leadership. It is truly an enjoyable place to come to work every day.
My students are AMAZING! They are so smart and are really hard workers. I am absolutely in awe of them each day when they produce the types of work they do! They are thoughtful and engaged learners and deserve the best education they can get. It is my job each and every day to be the best I can be for these students and help guide them to be the people they want to become. I love my job as a teacher and I love these students.
My Project
I am requesting interactive whiteboard CDs for my classroom! Our class was recently lucky enough to acquire an interactive whiteboard. This board helps learning come to life for the students! I would like the students to be able to use the board, even when I am not directly teaching a lesson.
My vision for these CDs is to use them during small group time! While I am taking small groups for reading, I would like one group of students to visit a whiteboard station! These CDs can be used at this station to reinforce ideas from class.
I believe that these CDs will allow the students the opportunity to learn, but in a fun and engaging way!
The students will become familiar with technology, but also be able to guide their own learning while I am taking small groups.
The comprehension workbook will be used for quick checks in the classroom, or for homework practice.
