My students need three Apple iPad minis, Fosmon Youth Series Kids Stylus Pens, and three Kensington Rugged Cases for our interactive lessons for reading and math.
Everyone is familiar with the quote from Robert Fulghum, "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten". As a kindergarten teacher I want my students to look back and truly see that together we built a firm foundation for their educational journey using the building blocks of tomorrow.
My 22 students attend a year-round school in North Carolina.
Our public school population is made up of learners from diverse socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. There is a wide range of digital literacy among the students in my classroom. My students benefit from differentiated instruction that incorporates hands on interactive 21st century learning skills. My goal is to actively engage students in a variety of tasks that allow students to access digital resources, and promote student success through collaboration and authentic experiences.
My Project
Technology is used in our classroom for whole group and small group direct instruction. We also use it during math workstations, enrichment, remediation, and Daily 5 literacy stations. We currently have three desktop computers and two iPad minis for our class. We facilitate sharing among collaborative groups in order to provide access to technology tools for students daily.
The addition of three iPad minis to our classroom will improve the efficiency of this small group learning. The students love the iPad minis we currently have and do a great job taking care of them. In addition, the more durable stylus pens will allow those students that are struggling with writing letters and numbers to practice those skills in a new fun way.
Thank you for your support of our classroom and my students!
The donations for three iPad minis, stylus pens, and protective cases will greatly impact student learning in my classroom.
It will allow additional learning opportunities that incorporate digital content to be integrated into our daily learning. It will increase student engagement, and allow students to demonstrate their learning in new creative and interactive ways.
