Instructional Seating For Special Needs Students

My students need 4 trays to place on top of our current Educube Chairs to have optimal one on one workspace for instructional trials.

My Students

Help us learn! One on one discrete trial training is a proved method to help students with autism and other delays. These work spaces will help keep us focused on the task and better define the area we are supposed to be in for our task trials.

I work in a public school, in a special education pre-school program.

We differentiate our classrooms based on student need. My students attend 4 days a week for a full day. My students have autism, other severe needs, or other severe communication delays.

My Project

Make the most out of our instruction. I work with students with Autism and other severe needs. These Edutrays will fit perfectly on top of the Educubes we currently have. They provide workspace for one on one instructional trials, help define the workspace, and help keep students focused on the task. I had no idea these Edutrays existed until I purchased a resource text on setting up classrooms for students with Autism. I am always interested in learning new techniques and strategies to use with my students. These trays are just the thing! We already have the cubes, why not make MUCH better use of them? Using the trays with the cubes will allow the students to stay focused on their task as we work one on one on skills on their IEP. The trays don't restrain the children at all. All a child has to do is stand up and the tray falls right off. They simply help the students with a defined work area. Students with Autism greatly benefit from things that are concrete and clearly defined.

There is nothing I wouldn't do for my students.

Each and everyone of them has a special place in my heart. They are the most enjoyable students to work with and it is so rewarding to see them learn something new. I would love to see the learning opportunities we could create using these work spaces!
