My students need a new classroom theme. We're hoping to re-do our classroom with the theme of Pixar's "Inside Out", so we are requesting books, music, characters, etc.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Emotions are challenging for everyone, especially for my students. My students come to my room to cool down after being overwhelmed by emotions or to learn about navigating big feelings and to learn social skills.
I work with students with emotional and behavior disorders as well as students with Autism at a Title I school.
Many of my students come from poverty, single-parent homes, and/or have a history of abuse. While my students struggle with basic social skills, they are truly some of the best little people I know and I am so lucky to be a part of their lives.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will be used to re-do our classroom theme. I am wanting to focus on the new Pixar movie, 'Inside Out'. This new movie is all about the emotions we all feel on a daily basis and how we can deal with them. This is a great way for my students to be able to talk about emotions in a fun and interactive way.
The materials I need include books about the movie, movie characters, soundtrack, posters, and more. I know my students will be so excited to have a "cool" way to learn about feelings!
This project will make a difference for my students in many ways.
First off, knowing that other people cared enough to donate to our classroom is huge in lifting their self-esteem and self-worth. Second, my students vary in age from kindergarten to fifth grade, so this is a great theme that will appeal to all of them. This theme will help my students realize that they are not alone in their struggle with feelings!
