Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I desperately need basic supplies. In order to provide my students with the education they deserve, I need basic supplies such as markers, chart paper, and tape. I have been purchasing these materials out of my own pocket and desperately need your help in providing these supplies for my students.
My high school students are extraordinarily diverse.
My students once taught me how to say "hello" in fourteen different languages. Pretty amazing, if you ask me! In a small school within a large, complex environment, my students face extensive challenges at home, and at school we try to provide them with stability and an engaging learning environment.
My Project
While supplies like markers and pencils might seem so basic that they are not exciting or important, the reality is that my classroom cannot function well without these things. Students often come to school without pencils and pens, and being able to provide the most basic of supplies can potentially make a difference in their approach to learning and engagement in the classroom.
Inequity in education is a tragedy.
Please help my students get the basic supplies they are entitled to for the coming school year. Paper may not seem like a lot, but, for students who ask, "Can I write on this," when they want to annotate, paper makes a world of difference.
