This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Providing a student with vocational training can set them up with endless opportunities upon graduation. Culinary Arts is a great class for students to express themselves and to keep them off the street!
My students have varying forms of Emotional Disturbance.
Eager to come to school everyday, my students require an "out of the box" approach to education. In order to keep my students coming to school, the school is set up as a vocational training site. This style gives students a skill to enter the world with. Often judged by the world for being labeled as an individual with an Emotional Disturbance, my students need individuals in their lives who will always be there for them and show them that through hard work you can get what you want!
My Project
In order to take this vocational instruction to the next level, we need the best baking materials out there! My students look forward to baking on a daily basis. They have dealt with too many disappointments in their lives already. Rather than not having supplies, my students deserve the best supplies available to CHANGE their school with this positive program. The needed materials are as follows:
2 Proctor Silex 5 Speed Hand Mixer
1 Cuisinart Power Select 3 Speed Hand Mixer
2 Anchor Hocking 2 Quart Batter Bowl
4 Silicone Basting Brush
3 Good Cook Scraper Spatula
1 Sunbeam NonStick rolling pin
2 Magnetic Measuring Spoons
2 Magnetic Measuring Cups
Chicago Metallic Batter Dispenser
How many students can we lose to the streets before everyone starts to listen? Rather than looking the other way, we should come together to drastically alter their future. It starts with these materials and more importantly it starts with you!
Unfortunately, as a teacher, every single year we hear that we will be getting less funding due to budget cuts.
As a teacher, this is greatly frustrating. When I decided to become a Special Educator, I promised myself that I would never let my students suffer because of this. Fortunately for myself, there are wonderful organizations like DonorsChoose. My students deserve all the materials we can get them. Be the first, the next, and the last to help us!
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mr. Haas and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
