My Students

"Do I have to read aloud?" "Why do I have read it again?" Just a few of the questions my students ask during reading.

My students are incredibly bright, talented, and motivated learners who have difficulty reading.

Many have speech and language disabilities or learning disabilities that can make the goal of becoming fluent readers challenging. I am always on the look-out for new and exciting means to encourage my students to practice their reading in order to improve their overall oral language.

My Project

Every week my students practice reading books that they will read with their book buddies in a younger class on campus. Both classes look forward to this interaction once a week. These microphones will allow my students to create a listening library for their book buddy class. They will be motivated by helping the youngest students with their literacy skills all while practicing becoming fluent readers themselves.

Everyone wins with this project!

My students gain the technological kid-friendly tools that will provide the incentive to practice reading aloud. They will be able to get feedback from listening to their reading. Their oral language skills will soar! Our younger buddy class on campus will gain a listening library created by their book buddies so they can improve their listening skills.
