My Students

My students love to do improvisation! We recently acquired a terrific world drumming curriculum but need our music room outfitted with the equipment.

My middle school students, grades six through eight, are fun and enthusiastic.

They love music and enjoy having it in the school day! This is a public school. Resources would be used for all grade levels to make rhythm come alive, teach about cultures of the world, and have some fun improvising.

My Project

The percussion kit you would sponsor includes enough instruments to support all the students. It includes tubanos, djembes, a talking drum, hand drums, bongos, shakers, guiros, claves, maracas, shekeres, cowbells, and gongokuis. This would be everything we need to have a total cultural experience in drumming.

I feel that this project would excite the students.

Last year we played on plastic buckets and they even enjoyed that, which is a testament to curriculum resources that we already have. Please help us to improve our improvisation!
