I have the privilege to teach a group of 26 kindergarten students who love to LEARN! The iPad is an engaging learning tool that my students love. Currently we have 1 iPad for 26 students to share. Just think what we could do with another iPad!!
My students are diverse in their educational backgrounds and come to school with a variety of learning experiences.
Not all students have access to technology at home and I want to be able to provide an opportunity for all my students to use technology during our school day to enhance their learning. The iPad has so many apps that are interactive and engaging for my young leaners.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad and protective case to use with my kindergarten students. This interactive learning tool is engaging and gives immediate reinforcement as my young students practice a variety of foundational skills that they will use as building blocks for learning in all academic areas. I am always looking for another way to teach a concept and the iPad is a perfect learning tool that students can use independently to enrich or reinforce specific skills.
I am able to track student progress with a variety of apps which help differentiate their learning. Students also are able to listen to a variety of stories and work together to become problem solvers as they persevere a variety of learning goals. Students use the iPad during our Daily 5 Rotation as they Read to Self, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, Work on Writing, and do Word Work. With another iPad twice as many students will be able to use this learning tool daily.
Technology is SO critical for my young learners as they begin their school experience.
The iPad is an engaging tool that motivates students and builds an enthusiasm for learning. We are just beginning to explore the many ways technology can help us as 21st century learners...ooh..the possibilities!!!!
