Remember when your teacher introduced you to a new way of learning that made it all click? Do you remember when you got your hands on a book that you couldn't put down? Do you remember when you fell in love with learning? I am hoping to give my fourth graders a chance to experience that feeling.
My students are fourth graders in a smaller school outside of Columbus.
They come from varying backgrounds and income levels. We have students that speak multiple languages, students that have varying learning needs, and best of all students that love learning! Our students are hard working, proactive individuals that have a desire to delve further into topics, books, and subjects to soak up all of the knowledge they can. Our students work hard together to show the power of teamwork and how through synergizing with fellow students they can become successful. These are some amazing fourth graders!
My Project
I am requesting two iPad Mini's for the classroom to be utilized to foster the students' love of learning. These iPads will help me to differentiate my teaching in order to meet the needs of the various levels of student learners in my room. I can utilize the iPads with my struggling learners as a way to review and reteach material that may have been difficult the first time around. I can use the iPads with my higher students as a way to expand their knowledge and to push them to grow even further as learners. All of my students will benefit from having this piece of technology readily available to them for research, to record themselves reading, to conduct interviews with experts in different fields that we are studying, and so much more!
This donation will allow me to have a new tool at my disposal that may just be what I need to spark understanding for the student that struggles with math facts, to open a new world of reading to the reluctant reader, or to introduce my whole class to a new way of learning.
