My students need 4 iPad minis with 6 protective cases with handles (2 for existing iPads). They also need a storage unit to store the iPads and a surge protector.
Every day, I greet my students with a handshake or hug when they enter the art classroom. The students are usually excited to continue working on their masterpieces or to start a new project. They also enjoy uploading their artwork for their family to see on Artsonia.
My campus is a Title I campus with students ranging in diversity.
They come from numerous backgrounds and cultures. Our students are amazing athletes, artists, musicians, and learners. They love the opportunity to learn through technology. One of their favorite activities is creating digital art with the iPads. The students also love publishing their artwork to an online museum. Last year, one of our students was voted artist of the week out of a national contest for work that he had uploaded to the museum.
My Project
The students will use the iPads to complete digital artwork, view videos that correspond to vocabulary cards and QR readers around the classroom, and to upload artwork. The students will learn about uploading photographs, how to crop, and fix photos and how to use technology to create art. We have used the iPads to take pictures of students discussing their artwork and to record videos of students presenting their work. It would be so nice to have four more iPads so that the students can use them more often than they are now.

Your donation will help put technology in the hands of more students more often.
I have 10 art classes a day with 20 to 30 students in each class. If we are lucky, students can publish 10 to 20 art pieces per class with 2 iPads. If we add 4 more iPads, the student should be able to publish 30 to 60 masterpieces per class. This grant would make it possible for each table group (4 to 5 students per group) to have access to an iPad every day in art.
