My Students

One strong united voice. That is our classroom mantra.

We have 8 students with autism in our classroom.

Three of those students are nonverbal and in need of a communication system. My students need 2 iPod Touch players to use as an electronic communication system. If the students have access to a iPod Touch, the school district will load communication software on it and those students will have a tool to use for a lifetime.

My Project

My students will use the 2 iPod Touch players strictly as a communication device. By having a dedicated iPod Touch to use ONLY as a communication device, the students will quickly learn that it is an important learning tool for them. Hopefully, after a short time, they will realize that it is a means to get their needs met.

These students will have a voice.

It is so important for these students to be able to make their wants and needs known to their caregivers. It is a skill and a tool that they can use for a lifetime.
