This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day my students have the opportunity to listen to books either on a CD or on the Internet. However, we have a limited amount of headphones. This makes it difficult for them to hear the story they are listening to.

The majority of my students are unable to supply their own personal headphones for our classroom.

We end up sharing the six pairs of headphones that I have in our classroom. When there are 21 students, obviously that is not enough. My students love to listen to stories being read to them. With many of them having English as their second language, hearing books aloud gives them the opportunity to hear a person read fluently and with expression.

My Project

Students in my room have the opportunity to listen to books on the Internet or on a CD every day. These headphones will be well used in our classroom in a variety of subject areas. By ordering the wireless headphones, we will not have to spend day after day struggling and untangling cords each time we want to use the headphones.

With limited supply money available to purchase supplies for my classroom, I would not be able to afford wireless headphones for my students.

I know having these headphones for my students will help them become a better reader because they will be able to focus on the book being read instead of all the classroom noise around them.
