Center time? Literacy stations? Yes, please! We share an enthusiasm for exploration and inquiry in our classroom. We explore our world around us, and seek interactive experiences. Our classroom is a place for all learners to grow and thrive. We learn through play, and we love center and station time.
We are a classroom of 20 eager kindergarten students, in northwest Oklahoma.
These five and six year old students have a large range of backgrounds. Eight out of my twenty students are English Language Learners. All of my students come from a variety of backgrounds. Those students with special needs, including autism, thrive from hands-on, engaging experiences. These experiences, such as stations, give all students a purposeful, memorable learning experience. I yearn for all my students to take away a true love for learning and a deep understanding of academic goals and skills.
My Project
Play is essential to young children learning! Simply having all students sitting at their desks, working on paper and pencil worksheets, does not cut it for these children! They need more! They learn through play! This storage tray organizer will allow our classroom to be organized, where students will know what is expected and where to go for each station activity. They will do a wide range of activities including stamping, paint dauber, hole punching, word work, and so much more!
This tray organizer will allow students to work independently on station work, and to get started on their own. The bins are color coded with 6 different colors that will help students easily learn where to go, based on the color of each bin. This will give me the ability to walk around the classroom working in small groups, and helping each student, at their level, for their specific needs and skills. Students love working at stations. This organizer will create a smoother, more efficient day.
Kids need to build a strong love for learning now, when they are young.
The storage bin will allow students to play, create, and grow into lifelong learners, through the access to hands-on learning materials. Stations are an effective way to meet learning objectives. They will love learning through the engaging activities, easily pulled from this organizer!
