Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I've always loved spring. Not just because of the warm weather and pending summer but because of the smell of life all around me.
My fondest memories are of planting flowers with my grandparents. The soil underneath my fingernails and hose in hand helped me blossom along with those flowers.
My students are a diverse bunch representing different cultures, languages, and socioeconomic status.
They are typical kids. They love to play, learn, dance, and sing. Our school is a small charter school located in the outskirts of a major metropolis. Although the city offers a variety of learning opportunities, the opportunity to appreciate the majesty of nature is not amongst them.
My Project
My students are eager learners with a thirst for scientific knowledge. With your help this greenhouse will offer inner city students the opportunity to explore the world around them through a hands-on learning approach. Many of my students live in an urban environment where they do not have the opportunity to see the life cycle of a plant. Adding this resource to my classroom will allow students to see the beauty of science in everyday life.
This project will allow students to see science and mathematics in a setting many have never seen before.
This project will enhance my students' learning using a hands-on approach. Thank you for helping expand science and mathematics education!
