My Students

Can you judge a book by its cover? Usually no, but when the book covers hold awards given for quality illustrations and writing, sometimes you can! The books that we are hoping to add to our classroom library with this proposal are all award winners or notable honor books!

I have a wonderfully diverse classroom, with many students coming from homes where they speaking languages other than English.

I also have many students on the autism spectrum. My first graders are excited about learning, especially learning to read. High interest books help these students when learning to read!

My Project

Having a large collection of high interest, quality books available to kids is an essential part of learning to read. This is possibly the best way to get kids to love reading. The books in this proposal are all books that have been honored in some way with an award or an honorable mention. That means they have been chosen as books that stand out among others for their quality writing and illustrations. These will be a great asset to our classroom library.

The more great books the better.

I can't wait to add these wonderful, award winning books to our collection! Thank you for considering this proposal to bring more quality books to my students and school! I will keep these books and use them with other classes in the future as well.
