My Students

With the ever increasing academic rigor, young students are being asked to sit more and more. This is neither healthy or age appropriate for our youngest learners. Consequently more and more students are being labeled ADHD.

My students attend a Title 1 School in West Tennessee.

Many come from low income and single parent homes. Many do not attend preschool and kindergarten is the first school experience. Recess time is being shortened more and more every year. Students need to move to learn but the opportunities for movement are limited.

My Project

Our school system is a full inclusion system. Meaning that more and more students who need additional assistance are in the regular Ed classroom. These six Hokki Stool seats will provide my little wiggle worms an opportunity to wiggle while seated. Studies show this movement helps children with ADHD focus, consequently they learn more!

The students who have difficulty sitting can use these seats while doing table work to help them focus.

We need to give them every opportunity we can to help them learn as they grow and mature.
