My Students

Do you remember the feeling of being completely immersed in what you were learning as a kid? This is a feeling that I want my students to have every single day. Our classroom has been stuck in the dark ages and having an interactive board in our room will allow us to move in the right direction!

My students are from a poverty stricken area in Pennsylvania where more often than not luxuries such as technology are often put on the back burner.

My students are from an area where daily necessities are not always guaranteed and a safe and welcoming home life is not always waiting for them. They see things every day that would give most adults nightmares and yet they still have managed to be some of the most wonderful people that I have ever met. While these children do not always have the best of everything when they go home at the end of the day, I want to be able to give them the world in my classroom.

My Project

Having an interactive board in my classroom will allow me to make sure that my students are getting the very most out of every single lesson. The interactive board will allow me to present information in a new and exciting way. I will be able to include video clips and interactive presentations in my lessons to ensure that I am reaching a variety of learners. If we are learning about different states in our country, I will actually be able to show my students these different places! For my students the five block radius surrounding the school is their world, and this interactive board will allow me to help them see and experience things that they may never be able to otherwise. Not only will my students be able to see new and exciting things but they will also be able to have a larger part in the lessons. My students will be able to be more active in our daily routines which will help to increase their engagement in their education!

This interactive board will give my students an amazing educational opportunity and the chance to really become involved in their education. I want my students to have the best education that they can get and I feel that having this technology in our classroom will be a huge help in providing that for them!
