My students are 7th graders in an urban school in Illinois.
The are so eager to learn, especially science! I love providing them with hands-on activities, but the cost can be overwhelming. My students have been bringing up dissection since the first day of school. I told them if they worked hard for me, I would see what I could do. Please help me reward my young scientists!
My Project
My students need dissection supplies such as 30 frogs, and two fetal pig packs pus a 240 piece dissection kits! These resources will allow my students to dissect two different organisms. One will be randomly drawn and then everyone will dissect a frog. I will have the students work in pairs so if students don't want to be quite as hands-on as their classmates they can do more observing. Although students will only dissect two organisms, they will be able to see a total of six different organisms. I'm so excited to watch my kids open a frog and see how large the liver is, or what a female's eggs look like! They are going to LOVE it!
